This auction is for the 1964 "Blue Room" limited edition, numbered and artist signed print of the painting by artist Edward Lehman that was intended for the Presidential gift print for the White House staff by President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy. is a chance to complete your collection of Kennedy's gift prints. Artist Edward Lehman (1914-2000) painted the 1962 gift print for the Kennedy's "Red Room" (limited edition of 2000) as well as the 1963 gift print "Green Room" (limited edition of 2100). He was also asked to paint the 1964 gift print "Blue Room" (limited edition of 1000) . Edward Lehman was asked by Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy to bring his finished painting of the "Blue Room" to the White House for her approval in August, 1963. He complied and during his visit President John Kennedy told him that the Blue Room was his favorite of the public rooms in the White House. This is a print of that painting he showed President and Mrs. Kennedy. Bec ause of the tragic event on Nov. 22 1963, the print of the "Blue Room" was never presented to the White House Staff as had been planned.
