You are bidding on the Kenya Campaign Medal, 1963-1967 Circular cupro-nickel medal with laterally-pierced ball suspension; the face with the head of President Jomo Kenyatta facing left, circumscribed above ‘H.E. MZEE JOMO KENYATTA’ and circumscribed below on two lines ‘FIRST PRESIDENT OF / THE REPUBLIC OF KENYA’; the reverse with a lion rampant, a spear upright in its right paw, above a mountainous landscape; on original ribbon. The Medal was instituted in December 1963 and awarded to Kenyan and seconded British personnel for 30 days' active service in operations against the Somali Shifta in northeast Kenya between 12 December 1963 and 30 November 1967.
