with very nice pamor.
This is a very nice 3 luk (wave) Keris Semar from Yoygakarta, Central Jawa. Yogakarta is situated in the central of Java and is one the most important city for the keris, with the keraton and big history of keris.
The dapur (shape) of the keris is Semar .
What means that t is a Semar shape welded in the Keris. Semar is one of the wayang family and related in many ways with the Keris.
The keris has still a nice visible pamor on the blade (see detailed pictures). The pamor is hard to get on a picture. Off course in real vision the pamor is more nice. I'm not a pamor expert so please check this yourself (see the pictures).
This keris is probably made 18th century. Due to high age of the Keris and the many ritual cleaning during the ages the Keris is getting quite thin towards the end, but still the pamor is visable.
The wooden handle is "Nunggak Semi" and and typical from Yogya. According to me the handle is less old then the keris itself, but this is quite common as the wood is less strong then the keris itself. As you can see the handle is matching well with the scabbard and keris. The wooden warangka (scabbard) has a gayaman motif (shape of kidney) from Yogya. The wood of the scabbard is very nice wood as you can see on the detailed pictures.
The kerisblade is +/- 22 cm and the total length of the keris in the scabbard is 38 cm.
Off course the low starting bid is less then the actual value and only to encourage you to give a good bid on this nice keris.
Please watch the pictures and judge yourself.
