WHOOPING 3.9 GRAM GREENSTONE CABOCHON: For auction is this very hefty 3.9 gram, beautiful greenstone cabochon. This stone is 14 x 19 mm and 7 mm in thickness. You can really feel the weight or heft of this great stone in your hand. This fantastic stone also has a very nice rich dark green color with large chatoyant eyes that are just outstanding in a good light or the bright sun. Stones of this quality and size are very rare and are usually reserved for museum display. They are only found in Keweenaw County in Michigan's Copper Country and Isle Royale National Park which is now off limits to collecting of any minerals. No place else on the planet can you find these wonderful gemstones. This particular stone came from an area that runs along the Greenstone Ridge of the Keweenaw Peninsula near the famous Central Mine. The back has been flattened for mounting to your favorite setting.
