This is a very elegant vintage flower two tone metal brooch with faux marcasite accents. Signed "Kigu, Reg. Des" on the back (the gold plating on the "Des" is very worn away. Measures 2 3/8" x 1 3/8". Ribbed finish to the gold tone parts which give it a muted look. Some nicks in the metal and wearing away of the gold plating in spots on the back; also an area on the pin stem where the gold plate is worn away. One of the marcasites on one of the leaves is chipped, and one in the center of the flower on the border edge is a gold color, which makes it look as though it was set in upside down, but I do not know if that what happened. Kigu of London was a company specializing in the production of powder compacts in the 1950s (many of which are now collectible). Kigu also later manufactured limited amounts of costume jewelry. Used, vintage condition. Check out my other items !Be sure to add me to your favorites list !
