1914c. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., USA GE COLLAR OSCILLATOR. This model was introduced has their third mechanical oscillator. This new design had completely enclosed gears making the fan look very sleek and modern. To engage the oscillator you just rotate the brass ring located at the base of the motor. Unfortunately, some of the gears were not sturdy enough to handle the pressures of oscillation and would often break .Though very modern in design, this oscillator was soon abandoned for much simpler, easy to produce model . This was unfortunate because this oscillator was far ahead of its time in style and operation. The blades and guard are made of polished brass and the motor has been redesigned and is very modern . When this fan was released to the public President Woodrow Wilson was in office making the piece ninety four years old. I would of called this piece the show stopper this guy I purchased it from was also a master restorer he methodically took apart the whole fan and went over every piece on the fan literally inside and out making it look as it did in 1914 . It has a very high end automotive finish and all the brass everyw on the fan retains itâe(tm)s high end luster . I believe it took him three months to restore at full time . Itâe(tm)s really gorgeous the fan is quiet works on all speeds and the collar oscillator works
