up for auction is a killer antique quartersawn oak table . this is a very wonderful table, it has gorgeous center support legs and the legs on each end are huge and bulbous with curved leg supports that has nice carving on it. the table is extremely well made. i thought it was tagged, but i have not found the tag when i looked a bit ago when deciding to list it. the skirt is very heavy and deep and is grooved to allow for support blocks to slide into the support it to the bottom of the table. the skirt is also screwed into the top with recessed screws. the table as is, with 5 original leaves, one of which is skirted is 111.5 inches long and just at 50.75 inches wide. the table will actually open to at least 147 inches. i opened it that far in the room i am in with it. it may go farther, but i expect about 12 feet is what it should be. the table as i said is very well made, extremely heavy and very well carved, it has a nice touch on the corners of the skirt with acanthus trim and deeper corners than the rest of the skirt. i took a shot of the underneath of the table to show how well it is constructed. i don't know if that will show well or not. it has fabulous quartersawn grain in the table as well as in all the original leaves. i paid 2800 for the table a long time ago. the table without leaves is just at 51 wide and 53 inches long. good luck. shipping charges are included in the buy it now price. i can supply additional pictures should anyone care to see more. i can only use 12 pictures on my ebay page, so it is hard to get all the details covered.
ps. i have 8 chairs that match the table or at least they have been with it for over 100 years. they are well carved and very nice chairs, one arm chair and 7 side chairs. if you happen to buy the table i will also sell you the chairs if interested. i decided not to list the chairs because as long as i have the table the chairs should stay with it. i just recovered them a few months ago.
