Up for bid is this "Famous Artists & Writers" Book of King Features Syndicate Cartoons. This book gives a list of Artists, from Gene Ahern to Bill Zaboly, all in alphabetical order.. in photo is Otto Messmer opposite his "Felix the Cat" and Dick Wingert opposite his great comic..approx. 130 pages to this. section.This section gives a comic strip on one page and an auto biography about the artist The next section is The Featured Writers, from Ida Baily Allen to Prunella Wood. Therse are also in alphabetical order.. In photos of writers are: Frances Drake opposite Ed Durling and second photo of writers is: Louella Parsons opposite Westbrook Pegler... approx. 30 pages to this section. This section gives an auto biography about each writer. This book is a red spiral bound book with 8 1/2 X 11" pages, with a heavy paper cover (grayish shade) with red lettering that is very clear. This book covers all the famous artists from Blondie to Popeye to Donald Duck & Mickey Mouse. All are in black and white. This book is in excellent condition with no ripe or tears,and has a copywright date of 1949 and i assume it is a first edition as it is probably and only 1 edition made.
