Franklin Mint KING TUT Egyptian Silver Gold Chess Set

Magnificent Franklin Mint King Tutankhamun Egyptian chess set in excellent condition with no visible signs of use. This limited edition chess set is no longer available from the Franklin Mint. The lacquered wooden board measures approx. 16" square and features a glass pyramid cover with footed gold plated statues. The pieces are very heavy -- they are 24K-gold-plate over solid silver. The corner statues are solid pewter. The set cost about $1,300 new, more than 10 years ago. Colors are based on the thick enameling on the bases of the pieces -- black and sand.
