The portraits form a album of nearly one thousand men directly or indirectly identified with the Stock Exchange; for, although there are portraits of many bankers and others who are not members, their interests are interwoven with its dealings..... Inasmuch as the bulk of dealings on the Exchange is in railroad shares and bonds, the presidents of fifty of the great railroad corporations are grouped on pages 86, 87, 88 and 89; and likewise, as the next important dealings are industrial shares, portraits of the presidents of what may be called industrial corporations appear on pages 90 and 91. It seems that this book was sold to various financial institutions, who then distributed them to their customers. The title page has Presented with the Compliments of W.M Patteson & Co., Bankers & Brokers 67 Exchange Place, New York. There are many illustration of the Stock Exchange and the surrounding Wall Street area. Others buildings shown in the book are the United States Assay Office; the Mills Building; the Manhattan Trust Building; the Manhattan Life Building; Gallatin National Bank; Manhattan Company Bank and Merchants' National Bank; Bowling Green Office Building; the empire Building of the Orlando B.
