Kipps: The story of a Simple Soul By H. G. Wells Pub: Macmillan 1905 First edition With bookplate pasted inside front cover printed 'Herbert John Gladstone'. The youngest son of British Prime Minister William Ewart Gladstone, H erbert John Gladstone was an accomplished Liberal politician in his own right. He was Home Secretary from 1905 to 1910 and Governor-General of the Union of South Africa from 1910 to 1914. 8" x 5" 425 pages + 8 pages comprising Macmillan's list of Novels for publication during the Autumn of 1905. Book condition: Good. Some wear to spine, foxing to endpapers and to some pages throughout.
