Featured is a completely mint 2002 Superlite-17K that has never been used. It was one of my reserve hats and has always been stored in a sealed, padded transport container and kept in an environmentally-controlled shop.The SL-17K, together with the SL-37, is the current industry standard for divers' helmets offshore and represents the pinnacle of modern helmet technology. It provides the working diver with an unparalleled balance of fit, comfort and safety via such advanced features as a dual-pin positive-locking anti-flood neck collar / neck dam assembly that maintains a full seal until the collar actually clears the diver's shoulders ; a positive-locking neck dam swing catch ; externally adjustable neck pad and chin supports ; quick-change communications module for either dual binding posts or 4-wire Marsh Marine plug ; large-tube fully-adjustable Superflow 350 regulator ; angled neck dam ; even distribution of helmet ballasting that provides maximum balance and comfort in any position ; a heavy-duty carbon-fiber / fiberglass helmet shell for optimal head and thermal protection ; hypo-allergenic silicone oral-nasal mask ; helmet-mounted sideblock manifold for primary and auxiliary breathing-gas supplies ; and an armored Lexan faceport. The only difference between the SL-17K and the SL-37 is that the former comes standard with single-stage exhaust whiskers was the latter has either the Tri-Valve ( early model ) or Quadra-Valve ( late model ) exhaust assembly. Both the Tri-Valve and Quadra-Valve can easily be retro-fitted to the SL-17K, if desired, for a surprisingly low cost. For example, the Quadra-Valve is priced at only $105.00. All adjustments on this helmet are exactly as they were when it came from the factory.The Serial Number of this hat is #00432K. I am the original owner. It was purchased from Kirby-Morgan / Diving Systems International through Jack Vilas & Associates of Morgan City, LA in May 2002.
