A TRUE ONE-OFF PIECE OF KISSTORY ! Kiss - 1977 Original Artwork Proof Set for Love Gun single "Christine Sixteen" full page advert in Billboard magazine. Complete set comprises of Artwork Mock-up Board, Photo Negative & actual July 23rd, 1977 Billboard advert. Gene Simmons' now iconic Christine Sixteen lyric "I don't usually say things like this to..." The Artwork Mock-up Board is on heavy stock board and measures approx 18.3/4" x 15.1/8. T is a tracing paper cover sheet that is neatly attached to the board at the top edge. On both the tracing paper cover sheet and the board itself the designer has written in red ink instructions for the printers. For example, the advert was to be used in not only Billboard but also Record World and Cash Box publications too, and as such t are in red ink the cutting cross hairs and dimensions for all three publications. T is also an instruction from the designer to the printers "1 set of 4 color process film for 3 sizes + color keys". The board has glued on Rock Steady and Casablanca Record & Filmworks logos, Love Gun album artwork and Gene Simmons' iconic lyric... The glued on pieces are very neat and remain perfectly secure after all these years, as does the tracing paper cover sheet. The Photo Negative measures approx 15.1/4" x 10.3/4".
