These wood stools were hand selected by my husband who has an appreciation for fine looking woods and a fantastic sense of aesthetics. They are very comfortable to sit on even for long periods and will make a great perch in your rustic kitchen, cabin or lodge. They are also used for sitting by the fireplace, tending the fire on those long winter nights and make a lovely backdrop for decorations next to the fireplace when not in use. I use two for plant stands and get compliments all the time. This piece was constructed using mortise and tenon which makes the chair very solid. They are sturdy, heavy and finely finished. The stool is very old and though its origin is questionable, it is nonetheless extremely beautiful and pleasingly comfortable - And a real eye catcher and conversation piece. We also have other primitive stools available for matched sets. Measurements: The height of this stool is 20 1/2 inches, seating area 17.5" x 8.5
