RARE KIYOSHI NAGAI Original JAPANESE WOODBLOCK PRINT "THE SHInANO ROAD" Limited Edition, signed, numberedAn original 1971 Japanese woodblock print by Kiyoshi Nagai (1911-1984) , one of his rarest work, titled "The Shinano Road". This is a limited edition. The print depicts a flat, modern-style image of a simple yellow home, surrounded by large trees, in the Shinano Province of Japan. The print is titled in both English and Japanese, signed, dated, and numbered "252-17" in pencil by the artist in the lower margin. The imagery is surrounded by a wide white margin and is presented behind glass in a thin black wooden frame. A hanger is attached to the verso of the piece for hanging. The print's measures are approximately: 19" W x 12.5" H (incl. margins ). Framed: 19.8" W x 13.4" H x 0.7" D . Provenance: Antique Auction(Ohio) , private collection. Condition: very good ( paper is beginning to discolor slightly on edges.
