On the cover of the book "Catawba Clay, Contemporary Southern Face Jug Makers" is a wonderful jug by Mr. Burlon Craig, that the artist of this jug loves. To her, it is the epitome of beauty and simpicity in the form of a face jug. So, the artist of this jug tried to recreate it to honor it. This jug for sale is stoneware, with an ash glaze. It was burned in a high fire reduction kiln. It is made by Karen Labarga a folk artist living in Plantation, Florida. This is a completely functional whiskey jug, and the words on the back tell the tale. They are carved into the clay, saying "FACE JUG 101 BACK TO BASICS". The teeth and eyes are porcelain, and so is the stamp of a face jug on the back. The bottom is signed and numbered. It is fresh out of the kiln. This is a perfect holiday gift for the folk art collector, and shopping early means you can take advantage of the parcel post shipping rates. Now that the postal rates went up t is a large diffence between parcel post and priority. But parcel post may take up to 10 days. Priority however is outrages. Thanks for looking.
