Hand made bit by legendary Pampa, Texas maker Billy Klapper. 8 1/4" cheek, 5" mouth with a 2" tall port. Silver on top and bottom rings, seven silver stripes on cheek. All hand cut and hand engraved. Polished iron finish. Marked " KLAPPER 27 " on the port. Near new condition. Some oxidation freckling in palces but mostly still retains the original polished finish. I don't think this bit has ever been in a horse's mouth. No problems, no excuses. It is about as close to new as you can get without getting one straight from Klapper. Billy Klapper is probably the most sought after maker today. He has been featured in many books including " Bits & Spurs in the Texas Tradition " and " Bits & Spurs Techniques, Motifs and Modern Makers " by Ned and Jody Martin, as well as magazine articles and a few TV shows. He was awarded "Spurmaker of the Year" by the Academy of Western Artist and received the first "Adolph Bayers Spurmaker Award" from the National Bit, Spur and Saddle Collectors Assoc." along with fellow Texas maker Jerry Cates. A rare chance at a near new Klapper 27 at NO RESERVE! Money order ships next day..checks must clear..$5 priority shipping + any insurance buyer may wish to add.
