This is 'VERY OLD!' This is 'VERY NICE!' SPECIFICS: PICTURES: I'm showing several pictures; This is so you might get a better view; Please use the pictures as part of the description. MEASUREMENTS: This measures about 9 1/2" Long; About 6 1/4" & 4 3/4" (At the Horn end ~ This is Oval in shape); About 3 1/4" in diameter at the Plunger end. MATERIAL: This is 'ALL METAL'. DOES IT WORK: YES! It works; You push on the Plunger and it makes a Loud Sound; The Plunger does not spring back; You have to pull it up into the 'Plunge Position'; The horn only makes a sound on the Push Movement; I don't know if it is supposed to make a sound on the return; It was stuck; I took it apart and adjusted the Screw in the Spring Steel Diaphragm; I sprayed the gears with WD-40. CONDITION: This displays the natural and expected wear that would be commensurate with age, use, and storage; There are some dents & dings. TEXT: PLUNGER: HAND KLAXON. HOW DOES IT WORK: The klaxon horn's characteristic sound is produced by a spring-steel diaphragm with a rivet in the center that is repeatedly struck by the teeth of a rotating cogwheel. The diaphragm is attached to a horn that acts as an acoustic transformer and controls the direction of the sound. So, do you have an Old Model T?
