"El Diablo" Upswept Skinner Offered is our latest creation. First these are designed and constructed with 440c High Carbon stainless steel. Not all steels are the same! 440c is a favorite of the US military and is widely in use today. It's primary quality is hardness with flexibility. Also it take extreme temperatures on both ends and maintains it's integrity and edge. The knife has a overall length of 5 1/2" with a 1 3/4" hidden tang design. 1 - 1/8 anchor hole in handle for rod. 4 mm thick. Satin polished and sharpened blade. Polished fitted brass guard included. The curved blade is perfect for skinning out large cavities. If your skinning an animal or having a close encounter with E.T. this blade, with it's ergonomic design, is a great choice. Many knife makers starting off will use oak or walnut as a handle. While it's cheap it's also plain and usually undesirable. Antler, buffalo and bone are great standards to start with. In woods use a stabilized burl like California Buck eye, Amboyna, and Rosewood Burl. The other things you can do to and to add value and resell ability is your name on the blade, you have a jeweler or laser engraver do that for you, mosaic pins if available, file work on the blade, spacers and an attractive sheath. Lastly every knife maker see his flaws more than anyone else, sometimes the hardest sell is the maker. Find your niche and go with that. I don't like velvet Elvis paintings but they sell.
