"Lone Survivor" Kit with G10 Handles and Kydex sheathThis is an important knife for the knife maker, tactical and survivalist a like. This light weight drop point design, weighs 3 ounces, and is made of hardened D2 steel, RC 59-60, with a non reflective finish known as stone wash. Stone wash finish is an acid dip process that leaves a very effective neutral color non reflective and corrosion resistant finish. Upper thumb stop with lower finger protection. Includes screws system, handles, sheath or can be easily made with Para Cord handles. Comes sharpened. Many knife makers starting off will use oak or walnut as a handle. While it's cheap it's also plain and usually undesirable. Antler, buffalo and bone are great standards to start with. In woods use a stabilized burl like California Buck eye, Amboyna, and Rosewood Burl. The other things you can do to and to add value and resell ability is your name on the blade, you have a jeweler or laser engraver do that for you, mosaic pins if available, file work on the blade, spacers and an attractive sheath. Lastly every knife maker see his flaws more than anyone else, sometimes the hardest sell is the maker. Find your niche and go with that. I don't like velvet Elvis paintings but they sell.
