An 800 silver Koch & Bergfeld tea caddy, probably dating to the pre--World War One period. Though the tea caddy's style also suggests the German Art Deco of the 1930s which was very much influenced by the Bauhaus school. The tea caddy weighs Eight & One-Half [ 8.50 ] regular ounces or about Two hundred & Forty [ 240.00 ] grams. Converting regular ounces into troy ounces and then adjusting for the silver content of the piece [ 800/1000 ]; that works out to about Six [ 6.00 ] troy ounces of pure silver. The piece is in fine condition. No dents or dings or evidence of any repairs. T is an inside lid, as will be seen in the photographs, which is gold washed. The interior of the tea caddy is also gold washed. It measures Five & One-Quarter [ 5.25 ] inches in height, or about Thirteen & One-Half [ 13.50 ] centimeters. The circumference at its widest point measures Ten & One-Quarter [ 10.25 ] inches, or about Twenty-Six [ 26.00 ] centimeters.
