....or so they said. But something is very wrong on LV426. There is silence from the colony. What has happened is that the Aliens have bred. They now have a Queen churning out eggs at a great rate & every colonist ~ bar one frightened little girl ~ has become an unwilling host for an appalling nightmare of a creature. And Weyland-Yutani knew about this. As the android science officer Ash had said on the Nostromo 57 years earlier, 'Bring back life form. Priority One. All other priorities rescinded. It's the perfect organism. Its structural perfection is matched only by its hostility...I admire its purity. A survivor... unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality. I can't lie to you about your chances, but... you have my sympathies. ' Now, it's happening again. Except this time, at least one of the humans knows what's happening & this time ~ it's war!Released way back in the early 1990's by that late great model firm Halcyon is the outstanding Caterpillar Class II Powerloader from that oh-so-wonderful film Aliens wherein we were introduced to the nightmarish glory of the Alien Queen, one of the most outstanding Sci-Fi characters ever invented.At the climax of the film, wherein the enraged Queen squares off against Ripley in an effort to kill Newt in revenge for what Ripley has done to her young, we have an interesting pair of combatants. The Queen ~ a very large creature with a bio-mechanical exoskeleton ~ is pitted against Ripley, the biological part of this team and the Powerloader ~ which is her mechanical exoskeleton. Very neat.Of course, it was at this point where the now classic line was uttered by Ripley thus:'Get away from her you B*tch' (sorry for censoring it but the last time I used the unedited quote eBay pulled my listing due to a complaint about 'bad language' ..... )And now to the auction item. The Alien Queen herself N.B. The auction item is bagged as shown but will be in a box from the Konami 'Alien Selection' set All other photo's are of one from my own collection. Back in the early to mid 2000's, the respected Japanese firm Konami released 2 different volumes of figures & craft from the world of Alien, Aliens, Alien3 & Alien Resurrection plus one other volume ~ 'Alien Selection' ~ that combined elements of the 1st two sets. The quality of these pieces is remarkable given that they were 'only' Candy toy collectibles, i.e. a small bag of (rather unappetising candy) with one piece from the range per box, sort of a 3d Top Trumps I suppose. Each Volume had a generic box ~ like the one shown above ~ but although you knew which set the piece was from, you wouldn't know which piece it was 'til it was opened. Measuring around 11cm in height & 17cm long, this Alien Queen figure is excellent.; some basic assembly is needed and she then stands on her base~ which I think purports to be the floor of either the LV426 Colony buildings or the Sulaco Loading Bay. It is in a fixed pose but looks great when combined with the Class II Powerloader.Here's what they look like together: The Powerloader is NOT included & I don't have any at this time.
