A Rare Korean Gilt Bronze Seated Buddha Figure-Maitreya: Korea. Seated in the pose of contemplation of the suffering of the world, the head inclined forward and to the right, the cheek resting lightly on the index and middle fingletips of the right hand, the bent elbow balanced on the right knee, the left leg straight and the foot flat on the lotiform footrest, the right leg bent and the foot balanced on the left knee and supporting the left hand, the figure dressed in a skirt drawn at the waist by a long sashes tied with distinctive butterfly knots and falling in wide, flat pleats across the knees to above the foot, the hem incised with delicate tracery and the central sash with scrolling foliage, the coiffure cast with tail topknot and circular plaits of hair, looping around the ears and covering each shoulder. --- Please note -"thisdescription quoted from the book". It’s in very fine condition , and it measures 34cm h. x 16.7cm d. x 15cm w. (13 3/8” x 6 ½” x 6”).
