This is the actual roulette chip which came from the Krays club the R and R. The club was situated in the heart of the East End in Bow street, how everunfortuantely it was directly across the road from Bow Street police station. Charlie Kray named the club the double R after a wild west bar but the name wasalso applicable to his two twin brothers names Ronnie and Reggie.When the buliding was refurbished and turned in to a bar, no expense was sparred and the bar was one of the first to have a juke box in the U.K. Reggie was especially proud of the boxing gym which he had made up stairs in the club. The gym was complete with punching bags, maze ball, speed ball, weights, sweat boxand even had a full size boxing ring. Many famous boxers visited the club and used the gym including Tommy McGovern, Terry Hill and the champion Henry Cooper.The R and R club was opened by by Reggie and Charlie kray on a Wednesday evening in Spring 1957, whilst Ronnie was serving three years in prison . The club was an instant success and Big Pat Connolly and Tommy the Bear were taken on as doorman.
