Krewe of the High Priests of Mithras is a Mardi Gras krewe dating back to 1897. This is a brass pin that reads 1950, Mithras, with small comedy & tragedy masks adjacent to the "19" and the "50". The writing and the masks are raised in relief from the background of the pin, and the word Mithras is written in script. The pin is 2 1/2" long, and curves outward in the middle of the pin (to allow the pin to be placed over a tie or a bow of some sort???). T is a long pin and clasp on the back side, to attach the pin to clothing. The clasp is in good working order. T are also two small "points" that jut out 1/4" behind the part of the pin that curves outward. In very small letters on the back of the pin, the word Hausmann is engraved. This pin was difficult for me to describe, so please e-mail with any questions.
