Kydex belt sheath for the Gerber River Survival Guide Rescue Knife .The auction is for the Belt Sheath OnlyThis auction is for the SHEATH ONLY. THERE IS NO KNIFE INCLUDEDThe sheath in this auction ONLY fits the Gerber made in Portland Or. River Survival Guide Knife. This is the one with the serrations on only half the blade on one side. The length of the blade is 3.5 inches. It will NOT fit the Italian made version.This auction is for 1 new Kydex Sheath that fits the Gerber River Survival Guide Rescue Knife . THE KNIFE IS NOT INCLUDED . This sheath will fix the knife comfortably in the small of your back in a modified scout carry as shown or in a cross draw carry if that is your preference. In keeping with my original designs and philosophy the sheath is worn between the belt and your pants where it stays snug and in the same place. This sheath does NOT come with the option for vertical carry at this price. If you want both options contact me BEFORE you bid.A Better Gerber River Survival Guide Rescue Knife sheath is what we have here.Here are some reasons why:1. Because you wear it on the inside of you belt it sits right next to your body.2. The belt loop is located at the balance point of the knife when in the horizontal position so it does not want to fall one way or the other.3. Made from .80 Kydex so your knife snaps in place and stays there.4. I will customize it for right or left hand draw as well as belt width and handle type.5. You can wear it either horizontally across your waist or cross draw on you.I have been making leather and Kydex sheaths and holsters for some years now and have always been experimenting with ways to stabilize them on your body. Any way you cut it, if you put them on the outside of your belt, they flop around some and are hard to conceal. So I keep coming back to the same solution. Mount them on the inside of the belt and they stay put. On very large knifes like the BK-7 the vertical mount on the outside of the belt is done for comfort. If I mount it on the inside of the belt it would be digging into your ribs. I really do know what I'm doing I have been at it a long time.The release for the knife is either by pulling on the end of the spring clip that is attached to the knife or pressing on the spring clip in the middle of the handle. It snaps quietly out and then back into place. The locking mechanism is very secure. If it falls out you got bigger things to worry aboutThe sheath comes in any color as long as it's black.The sheath you see is set up for right hand draw a 1.5" belt.
