This is a worthy piece of Tiffany. Combines works in two mediums: enameled bronze and favrile glass. Came from an old Ohio estate. And it also comes with an apology. Has a glass crack near the handle which I have photographed. Extends approx. 5 3/4" from "3 o'clock to just below 4 o'clock. The glass is tight around the area and t is no sign of wobble or looseness. T are no other apologies to be made to this piece and I am selling this bride's basket exactly as purchased.
Quality of the green mosaic frame is fabulous. Superb patina, crisp detailing, exquisitely mottled. Favrile glass is beautifully contoured. Glass is textured and the quality is exceptional. Brilliant shades of green with gold highlights in a quilted pattern. The bowl is tight and secure within its frame. Despite the apology, I think this is a remarkable piece of art. Extraordinary. I think finding Tiffany works using combined materials are getting a bit rarer to find than one might suspect. This would be a stunning and celebrated piece to add to any collection of Tiffany or art glass display.
