L22 FENTON BURMESE HUMMINGBIRD VASE 1969 BLACK LIGHT

Item Description We offer for your consideration this Fenton Art Glass Burmese Hummingbird Vase, hand painted and signed by artist S. Hart, designed by K. Plauche, circa 1990s. The vase is a Limited Edition #1746 of 2500. Vase is 8" tall and 5" across the top. Excellent condition. The depth of the beautiful Burmese color and the detail of the artist work makes this a very special piece. Embellished with 22k gold. The piece is black lighted in the last photo, since it contains Uranium it is one of the very early pieces. In 1969, after many trials, Fenton chemist Charles Goe replicated Shirley's Burmese, & it has become one of the most collectible Fenton colors. Burmese contains pure gold, & careful reheating coaxes the delicate pink shading into existence. The yellow color comes from a small amount of depleted uranium in the batch. Over the years, there has been variation in the color of the yellow from greenish to a cream hue. The current Burmese reflects the original Burmese with a creamier yellow base. This piece is dearly loved and is sure to become a family heirloom.
