These beautiful beads are very difficult to capture accurately in a photo. They are so dark as to appear almost opaque, but when held to the light are actually transparent blue.

This strong double chain "ladder" style Rosary would make a wonderful gift for a "Knight" in your life! It was handcrafted of durable quality materials, in the U.S., by this ebay seller. Due to the double chain construction and assembly with handmade wire 'bows' this Rosary does not come apart easily.(See construction notes below.)

Note: if you want this Rosary but not with the KofC center medal, I can make it with a Scapular medal (Sacred Heart of Jesus) or Miraculous medal (Blessed Virgin) if you message me at time of purchase.

BEADS: The beads are medium 7mm cobalt blue fire polished faceted glass from Europe.

QUALITY MATERIALS: Metal parts are silver finish "base metal" with brite nickel finish chain that keeps its shine after much use. (Note: chain may appear bronze or golden in photo under artificial light, but it is silver finish !)

The CRUCIFIX is 1 1/2" long, with blue enamel tips. The KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS EMBLEM CENTER MEDAL is nicely detailed and about 5/8" long. It has an image of the Blessed Virgin on the reverse (see photos). This is a standard 5-decade Rosary with overall length of about 18 inches, making this a nice sized Rosary for pocket, and it has a masculine look. Little metal 'caps' decorate the Our Father beads and set them apart.

STRONG AND DURABLE ASSEMBLY: This Rosary is made on the original "Old Mexico" pattern that I have been using for 40 years. Note that the double chains are continuous around the entire 5 decades . There are NO breaks in the chain at the Our Father beads between decades. Also, this Rosary is assembled with handmade twisted nickel silver wire "bows." These features make for a strong Rosary that does not come apart easily with normal use. (These features set this handcrafted Rosary apart from some imported 'ladder' Rosaries which have breaks in the chain at the Our Fathers and are assembled with jump rings instead of the stronger handcrafted wire "bows").

A Ladder Rosary feels very nice in the hands as the beads roll under the fingers.

In gift shops this handcrafted Rosary would retail for considerably more than my ebay price.

ABOUT MY "OLD MEXICO" LADDER ROSARIES: The double chain way of making a Rosary turns up here and there around the world. The first I saw belonged to a friend in Colorado who had obtained it from a street vendor near the Old Cathedral in Mexico City. Because the beads hung crossways between two chains, she called it a "ladder Rosary," or a "ladder to climb to heaven." (Hers was made - as I still make them today - with continuous chain around the 5 decades, no breaks anywhere.) In June, 1971, I decided to make a "ladder" Rosary for myself, and figured out how to space beads on standard American chain. Everyone who saw my Rosary wanted one, and soon Mom and I found ourselves with many orders for our "Old Mexico Ladder Rosaries." As word spread, we shipped to customers across the U.S. Our Rosaries were widely copied by other makers. Mom and I have made over 12,000 Ladder Rosaries -- all made with the same care and meticulous attention to craftsmanship. In November '06 I began offering Ladder Rosaries on eBay.
