This auction is for an antique pocket knife manufactured by the Germania Cutlery Works. I'm assuming, based on the design of the handle, that it was a woman's knife. This knife has a unique handle which is shaped like a woman's leg in a turn-of-the century shoe and stocking. I don't know what the knife handle is made of, t are no marks. It is a lightweight metal. The closed knife is 2 1/2" long. It has only one blade. The blade is marked "Germania Cutlworks Germany." The blade is stiff to open but seems to be relatively sharp. The whole knife could probably use more cleaning. I don't know the exact age of the knife, but I understand the Germania Cutlery Works was in business in the late 1800s and early 1900s. I found the knife in items from my grandparents' home, many of which had come from my great-grandparents. This knife would make a wonderful addition to a collection!
