this hat is dated 1948 detroit and is from the day when bikers could travel and people actually let the bikers sleep in their yards and sometimes fixed them breakfast or at least coffee. this hat belonged to my mother. her and my father both had their own harleys and would ride often. the hat is in very good shape, not quite mint condition as t is a bit of fading on the top of the hat and on the brim. it is 60 + years old, i would be a little faded too! t a few small plucks on the wing part of the hat, but the material is silk, very easy to pluck. since mom quit riding ages ago, the hat has been stored in an air tight container and packed away. this hat is a very nostalgic item and great for a true harley collector or gift for a harley chic you know. the elastic band that goes under the chin is still stretchy. after 60 years and the elastic isnt dry rotted. the brim is still completely intact and no rips or shredding. as i said it isnt mint but its very close. i have priced hats similar for 4 times as much that were in worse shape. in all my research i have not come across another like this one, i believe t are no more left, this is a one of kind hat and its a beautiful piece of harley history and you will not be dissapointed!

I had to add a reserve price to the hat because i just was not getting any bidders. I have to get the price that the hat is worth having seen other hats in worse shape go for more. thanks for all of you watchers and good luck to the winning bidder!
