Custom-designed and historically accurate LADY JANE GREY ( THE NINE DAY'S QUEEN ) collectible doll (13.5" tall) from Royal Heritage Collection of UK artist/designer Brenda Price. NEW IN BOX. MINT+ CONDITION
Porcelain head, hands, and legs. Facial features, including inset eyes, china painted by hand by the designer. Fawn brown velvet gown with coral/gold brocade sleeves and underskirt hand-sewn by designer. Sleeve cuffs of brown/tan faux fur. Lace, metallic gold braid, seed pearls, and gold trims. Red/black French hood headdress trimmed with gold braid and seed pearls. LADY JANE GREY (1537-1554) was only 15 years old when she succeeded Edward VI, son of Henry VIII, to the English throne, which she held for only nine days. Her execution was ordered by Mary I, Queen of England. Hand-tag signed, dated (1999), and numbered (#037) by Brenda Price , who has designed and produced historically accurate Tudor and Elizabethan dolls since 1971. Exquisitely made collectible item!
