Over the years I have very much enjoyed wearing this Star Sapphire surrounded by 4 small diamonds and set in a white 14K gold band, but I no longer wear a size 6 ring and don't want to bother re-sizing it. I got this ring new in about 1972. I have an old 1983 appraisal that provided the information as to characteristics of the ring I list in the following paragraphs. The 1983 appraised price (by an Ohio jeweller) was $325. I will provide this 24-year-old appraisal to the winning bidder. The ring consists of: One pear-shaped 6 x 8 mm. medium dark blue cabochon-cut Star Sapphire of average quality Four round .02 ct. single-cut diamonds with H-I color and SL quality One white14K gold setting, size 6 (according to my ring sizer)The inside of the band is marked 14K and also inscribed on the inside of the band: Gem Art. The color of the sapphire changes depending on the amount of light that is shining across its surface--I have tried to show that it the second merged photograph attached. The "star" doesn't always show up--only when t is light reflecting directly on it. No reserve! I hope the winning bidder enjoys this as much as I have. I have other items for sale this week.
