POTTER: Charles Lakofsky (1922 âe" 1993).
ITEM: Folded red clay cylinder with an eared opening up top. âe~Wheelâe(tm) medallion on the front. Kaki green and light, dark blue glaze on reddish colored clay. DIMENSIONS: 7 1/8âe high, 3 3/4âe wide, 2 ½ deep. MARKS: Potterâe(tm)s glyph on the bottom. CONDITION: Small (3/8 x 1/8âe) chip on top back lip, ¼âe shallow chip? on back. This could be in the making. COMMENT: Graduated Magna Cum Laude from Alfred University. Competed in the Nationals from 1946-1966, excluding 1962. Work represented at the Everson Museum, etc. Was one of the most successful potters in the Nationals to place year after year. PHOTO NOTES: : Fairly accurate rendition.
