ASTERS No. 2 - 1935 ~ Bowl

This is a magnificent bowl by Rene Lalique, created in 1935. It is a remarkable example of clear and opaque molded glass. The asters on the exterior of the bowl are wonderfully concave and cast exciting and interesting light creations when lighted from above or below. The interior of the bowl is smooth. The sand blasted R. Lalique signature is on the bottom.

R. LALIQUE - Felix Marcilhac, Page 764, Item #3304.

CONDITION : This piece is 20.5 cm in diameter (8.0 in.), and 8 cm (3 1/8 in.) in height. Its condition is wonderful. We have not attempted to clean the glass in any way. It has been in the same closet for over 30 years. The condition is such that it doesn't really have the wear and tear that one would expect. Remarkable.

We will be happy to provide additional photographs upon request.

We are two beloved friends of 40 years, and we are selling our mothers' stuff. We both inherited the magnificent treasures of our mothers and in some cases, their mothers. Unless otherwise stated, the pieces we are selling have been in one of our families for a minimum of 25 years. Over the past decades, we have each loved the pieces, cherished them, cherished their history and import, shared them, and relived the memories that each piece evoked. We have both displayed them in our homes, packed them, moved them, insured them, worried about them and stored them away for safe keeping. Now, we both fee...
