Found at an estate sale as part of a small collection of modern Lalique crystal, this Lalique Clear Crystal Perch Fish Hood Ornament is about 6" long, 4" high, and sits on a 2 5/8" diameter base. The exact age is unknown but it's probably at least 30 or 40 years old. It has one minor defect, a very small, inconspicuous chip on the left hand side of the tip of the third spine which isn't visible if the piece is set facing right. It's shown in the picture of the dorsal fin. The bottom of the base has several tiny scratches, as is often the case with a piece that has been displayed for many years. In several of the pictures the crystal picks up and reflects the brown of wood it's resting on. However, this piece is clear, as can be seen in the photo looking down on the top. The Lalique signature inscribed on the bottom of the base is shown in a scanned image. It's difficult to make out, so I've included a picture (the final image) of an example of a similar known authentic Lalique signature for comparison.
