My late Aunt had many beautiful collectibles that my sister (marmelademom) and I are starting to put up for auction. This lovely piece is by Lalique. (I believe that Dampierre is a region of France w, perhaps, it was made). The bottom of the pedestal is marked "Cristel (or Cristal -- it's hard to see the letter) Lalique France." This crystal vase is completely surrounded by eight little birds with a leaf design between each one. Every bird is in a different pose. They are looking right, left, straight ahead and diagonally. The vase itself is clear crystal and the birds and leaves really stand out done in a frosted finish. This piece is 4 1/2" across the top and stands 4 7/8" high. I can see it holding a few perfect English roses!! T are no chips, scratches or flea bites whatsoever. It is in pristine condition.
