Lalique Frosted Crystal 'COQ NAIN' Rooster Paperweight Signed Lalique France Originally designed by Rene Lalique in 1928 to be a car mascot/hood ornament the Lalique company continued the design as a substantial frosted paperweight. Measures approximately 8 1/4" high, 5" wide with a 2 5/8" diameter base. The piece is signed at the base "Lalique France" and has the original "Made in France" sticker on the bottom. Couldn't find any chips or damages on it other than slight wear on the bottom from sitting on different surfaces (see below). A beautifully carved piece of art glass.*** Updated 3/19 at 10:05 EST - Someone asked if there was a crack in the piece above the Lalique signature. There is no crack, it is part of the mold for the sculpture. I added another photo to show that. I also compared to the original R. LALIQUE car mascot and there is a join in the mold in the same spot as well. Since the mold for this piece was taken from the original R. LALIQUE piece it only makes sense the mold join would be more pronounced and in the same spot. Hope this explains things.Buyer pays actual shipping costs.
