This is the Lalique "Mesanges" Bowl ..it is also listed in the catalog as "Coupe Taillee Mesanges". This piece is an original Rene Lalique design from 1931 . From the signature, this piece appears to be post war... circa 1950's . The model number is #11018 . The retail price for this bowl in the 1996 catalog is $1330. It is believe retired as it is no longer listed in any catalogs after 1996 . This bowl is stunning...it is in mint condition with NO chips, cracks or scratches. It has a rim of chickadees and they are all in different poses...it is a FULL 9 1/2" Across and 3 3/4" Tall . It WEIGHS 6 1/2" LBS ...Before packing.The body of the bowl is fully faceted or ribbed completely around the mid-section. It is signed on the base "Lalique France " and also has 3 felt feet on the base and the orginal sticker . I found only one that sold in the last few years and it was also circa 1950 .
