This is the 1968, sixth edition of Joseph A. Lambeth's original 1934 publication. Regarded as the bible of cake decorating and fancy pastry making, this book teaches incredible techniques that you can't find today, especially when it comes to special occasion cakes. The book features copious illustrations in four-color and halftone plates, and a recipe index in the back. Contents include: French Pastries, Danish Pastries, Petits-Fours and Mints, Wedding and Specialty Cakes, Novelty Cakes (Marzipan), Seasonal Cakes, Buttercream Specialty Cakes, Dessert Macaroons and Tea Breads, Technique in Flower Making (Roses, Sweet Peas, Narcissus, Dahlias, Daisies, Petunias, Carnations, Pansies, Poinsettias, Zinnias, Easter Lilies, Violets, Wisteria, etc.), Decorated Border Construction, Icings, and so much more! This copy looks to have never been used, the only wear is on the hardbound cover (see photos) and likely due to many years spent on the shelf or packed away. The inside pages are in perfect shape with no tears, writing, marks, or stains. Just a bit of old book smell.
