Modernist 'Lamstak' Stacking Armchairs for Esavian English design classics by James W Leonard for the Education Supply Association (Esavian Ltd). c. 1948. Elegant examples of post-war British modernism. This is made from beech ply throughout, including the lovely curved leg assemblies. This is a scarce, discontinued model but is a well-made and comfortable chair.Marked to the back with an ESA manufacturers roundel, this LAMSTAK ( short for laminated stackable chair) is a comtemporary with the iconic 1946 Eames bent ply chair, and the design untilises the same post-war medium of plywood formation, brought about from advances in the aero-construction industry. Ideal for kitchen, home office, or for commercial use. This sale is for x2 chairs.
