Land Bounty Document~ dated the tenth day of September, 1860. These "greetings" were issued as part of the Act of Congress, approved March 3, 1855- Granting Bounty land to certain officers and soldiers who have been engaged in the military service of the U.S. This one gives, 120 acres in Kansas? to the widow of John Miller- private, captain at Hansburgers? Company Virginia Militia in the War of 1812. T is a James Buchanan signature (above) done by his secretary; Then, another James Buchanan signature that is his according to an autograph verification book. He was the president at the time and the presidents seal was applied to this paper; As you can see.
It measures 1 foot 3-1/4" by 10 inch. The condition is pretty good, considering the age. T are corners missing on right side, the seal is rubbed off looking. To be mailed inside plastic sleeve, (unfolded) in large, cardboard envelope. Buyer must pay within 3 days of auction's end. THANK YOU
