1934 Lane Cedar Chest. Note: Original Lock has been disarmed per Safety recall. New Safety latch plate has been installed per instructions from LANE. Part # 203620 has been installed which prevents chest from accidentally being locked. This beautiful 1934 genuine Cedar Chest is built of 3/4" red cedar heartwood. It was the only certified aroma tight cedar chest with sealed in moth killing aroma for lasting moth protection. In the original Dec 8, 1934 Chest AD from the Saturday Evening Post it shows this beautiful chest in the lower left corner (see pic). This Ad accompanies this chest in this sale describing this chest as a masterly example of modern cabinet work. The 4 piece center matched American walnut veneers are enriched by genuine wood carvings and moldings; an overlay of figured ash adorns the apron rail. How rare is it to have an 81 year old chest in such beautiful condition and also have the original page ad (not a copy) from the Saturday Evening Post p. 58? The condition is nearly flawless as there are no scratches or marks on the either side or front panels. The interior is absolutely spotless and the chest rolls on some very nice ball shaped bearings. Do not want to take a chance damaging this beautiful piece of furniture so it will not be shipped. Local pickup only. However, if the buyer is fairly local to Los Altos, read more
