Why? Because these cars were the last cars truly built under the supervision and guidance of Carroll Shelby at his Los Angeles factory. In 1968, Ford took over production of the Shelby Mustang models, in their Livonia, Michigan assembly plant. In addition to being the last model year that Ol Shel was really involved, 1967 was also the first year for the new, slightly larger body style, grill-mounted driving lights, and both upper and lower side intake scoops. Today, the 67s are one of the most sought-after Shelbys by collectors.
