You are bidding on a used professional-grade lapidary unit built about 1970 by Craftools, Inc. of Wood-Ridge, IN. The main unit has several grinding and polishing wheels and switches for the main unit and the saw. The saw has a 10-inch diamond blade and a work holder bracket made by Bill's Rock Shop or Dos Palos, CA. Included are three motors (only two are required to run the unit): 1) Dayton 115 volt 7.8 amp 1/2 HP, 2) Westinghouse 230 volt 8.2 amp 1/3 HP, 3) Delco 115 volt 4.2 amp 1/4 HP. The Delco motor runs smooth and quiet. The other motors haven't been run in some time, partly because the unit has been dismantled. Some basic wiring will be needed to attach the motors to the main switches. This unit has never been used heavily. My father purchased and used this unit in the early 1970's, then stored it for ten years, setting it up again in the late 1980's but only used it a while before his eyesight started failing. It hasn't been used in 20 years. All rotating parts on the unit and saw turn freely. Even though t is some rust, the work bracket on the saw glides fairly smoothly. Also included is an assortment of belts, pulleys, polishing wheels, oil cans, and polishing compounds. The entire package probably weighs more than 100 pounds, so buyer must pick up or pay shipping costs. Approximate weights (using bathroom scale) read more
