A beautiful mid 19 th century lacquered box with mother of pearl inlay, signed and dated .The lid has a large diamond shape of mother of pearl with nine smaller diamond shapes inside the larger. The center diamond has the letters J.G.K. for Mary Jane Kellow 1866. The escutcheon is also made up of a large mother of pearl diamond shape with four smaller diamond shapes inside the larger. The inside of the box is covered in contemporary wallpaper. The condition of the box is very good the lid does show a minor shallow split as shown in the photo, the front right hand corner of the lid also has a small split. The mother of pearl is in very good condition. This box has a great look to it with the mother of pearl, all in all the box is in good shape. 10-3/4"l. x 7-5/8"d. x 4-3/4"h.
