About me: I have been a member on Ebay for about a year now and I've been buying many different types of antiques on Ebay, private auctions, and estate sales. I am now in the process of opening up an antique furniture and decorative arts store and I overstocked a little so now I am selling some very beautiful and extremely rare antiques and items on Ebay. As you can see, I have 100% positive feedback ratings. You can bid with confidence because we guarantee 100% authenticity
The Item: we present to you a LARGE Royal Worcester Pair Grecian Water Carriers c. 1889. These very rare exquisite graceful classical figurines are featured and priced in the renowned Miller's International Antiques Price Guide (The Complete Handbook for Collectors and Professionals) by Judith and Martin Miller in 1993. Tfore, these very rare and gorgeous Grecian Water Carrier Figurines have undoubtedly raised in value, price, and rarity since then. Please view our last picture for their quoted prices of $2700-$3600 in 1993. In the book, however, their robes are bronze, while our figurines have Each figurine modelled as a Classical maiden wearing a rich ivory robe/layered drape very womanly and lifelike yet statuesque and elegant at the same time. Their drapes give off a rose pink beautiful tone. Also, in the book, they date c. 1907 but ours date c. 1889, also making them older and more valuable. Each maiden carries an amphora in one hand and with a vase balanced in the other on the head. They have a puce printed shape numbers and shot enamel mark, and impressed numerals. Their contrapassto positions emulate their classical statuesque figures and elegance in a relaxed stance, very comfortable and content in their positions as shown in their strong bodies and gazes. Their necklaces are beautiful and the design on the drape is diagonal and beautiful with elegant feet coming out. Truly a rare beautiful pair of figurines. This is an absolutely beautiful and Rarely found pair of Large Porcelain Grecian Water Carries made by Royal Worcester Porcelain. Bottom is marked with Royal Worcester mark and the letter O beneath the mark (the letter is rubbed off on the bottom of one but clearly visible on the bottom of the other). That letter denotes the year that it was made, 1889. The condition is very good. T is a small chip at the folds of one of the maidens' toga which is barely noticeable and doesn't begin to distract from the beauty and elegance of the pair. They each stand approx 20 1/2" tall and 5 3/4" wide at the base. Item Condition: We inspect all items and include a full description of what we observe. We Further research the Authenticity of all Items before listing. All information is to the best of our knowledge and investigation.
