Stunning, elegant, unique, remarkable, large, spectacular....are just a few of the words that I think of when looking at this beauty. Up for bid is the most unique and exciting piece I have come across all year!! It is a large, 12" X 16" mammoth of Capodimonte. The estate it was purchased from, their parents lived in Sicily, Italy. It is in Mint condtion with no chips, cracks, or repairs that I can see. The gold that is on this piece is amazing and in pristine condtion!! As you can see the footed bowl is flanked on both sides by two dragons or serpents just engulfing the turned up ends. It also showcases two adorable cherubs in the center of the bowl. They are surrounded by flowers and greenery and are framed in gold. Lots and lots of gold etched over the whole piece. The footed bottom is incredible! It even has a touch of dragon scales around the middle. The pictures do not do it justice. I could sit and look at this all day--it is unbelievable. The inside of the bowl is a lovely turquoise and you can find touches of the same color throughout the entire bowl. The bottom is marked, with what I believe to be the artist signature--it says ARCA and the number 466.1. If anyone knows anything about this piece I am always grateful for your information. T is no reserve so have fun...anyone would be excited to own this.
