The Perfect Ashlar is made up of six pyramidal sections that fold up and claps together, hiding the symbols to form a cube, or a ‘Perfect Ashlar’. The Perfect Ashlar symbolizes the man who is educated about the craft and always keeps the symbolism inside his being. The symbols are arranged according Masonic teaching and the setup of a lodge. The topmost represents east, bottommost represents west and so on. - The topmost section bears the eye of providence, the sun and moon and below, the square and compass. This section symbolizes the east. - The leftmost bears the globe, showing that north of the ecliptic t is darkness in the north with the sun and moon at their meridian height. It also bears the trowel, lesser lights and the Pythagorean Tetractys. This piece symbolizes north. - The center bears the Holy Bible, a Tasselated border or skirting, and a checkered pavement. This piece symbolizes the floor of the lodge. - The right bears a plumb-line, the rough and perfect ashlars and an entered apprentice apron. This symbolizes the Junior Warden’s station and the entered apprentice degree. - The second from the bottom bears the pillars Jachin and Boaz with the terrestrial and celestial globes, the key stone of the royal arch and a coffin spade and sprig of acacia. - The bottommost bears a level, skull and crossbones, hourglass, and compass at the westernmost section. This represents the Senior Warden’s station and the west gate. Please feel free to ask any questions. Bidders outside of the United States are welcome.
