Item: Vintage & RARE “HOLIDAY CHEER” Dutch Beer Sign Description: For sale is a N.O.S. (New Old Stock) Unique & Rare Beer Sign put out as a Christmas greeting by “VAN MUNCHING & CO.” which is America’s #1 distributor of Dutch Beers such as Heineken and Amstel Light. I searched all over the internet and Ebay and could not find another one of these in both the past and present. The only similar thing I found was a set of nearly identical Christmas coasters but with only the Heineken bottle on it. The (4) of them sold for only $8 but they were discolored/stained and had creases. I purchased this sign from the original store owner who had it in storage since the 1970’s when he took over that store. I thought there may be an exact date on the back but all it says in fine print is: "Exclusive U.S. Importers: Van Munching & Co. , New York, N.Y." Although it is not Christmas time, please stay open-minded and take notice how truly unique and pretty darn cool this very colorful sign is. It is made of VERY heavy duty cardboard and stands on its own built in easle. I boldened the words "VERY HEAVY DUTY" because I really don't want anyone to be worried this is a chincy paper sign. It is far from that. Since it is shaped like a Christmas tree ornament, there is also the loop at the top which is strong enough for this sign to be hanged instead if you prefer. When folded, it can collapse flat which makes storage easier, shipping easier and CHEAPER too! The two beer bottles in the front are 3 dimensional in the sense that they pop out from the rest of the sign. The sign measures 25” high x 18” wide. I am sure my photos will best further describe this vintage beer adverstisement. Condition: This sign is 95% MINT in every way. It has not been open/closed a million times so everything is still very crisp and strong. There are ZERO rips/tears and it is really quite perfect. The colors are still very vibrant and uniform. There are no sun faded spots from sitting in a window for 40 years. Nothing like that. On a scale of 1 – 10 (ten being mint), I rate the condition of this sign to be a solid 9.
